Ever wanted to make your nose look smaller but didn’t want to pay the hundreds and thousands of dollars to get a nose job? If you’re self conscious about your nose shape or size there are a couple of safer and easier ways to help it appear smaller without spending an arm and a leg or risking the pain. One of the methods we’ll focus on for now is called nose contouring.
If you have never heard of nose contouring then today will be your lucky day. You may be familiar with it already and just wasn’t aware of the proper name for it. Nose contouring is a temporary cosmetic solution that uses foundation and powder to create the illusion of a smaller nose. You can use it to make the nose appear thinner and straighter as well. By the end of the day the makeup can be washed off with soap and warm water as it is just a temporary fix.
The effects of this temporary fix can still be enjoyed on a daily basis. By brightening the eye areas a person can make his or her nose appear thinner. One can also achieve a smaller looking nose by creating shadows along the sides of the nose with darker foundation.
After washing, drying and moisturizing the face, start out with the lightest foundation. Apply it to the top and bottom of the eye, which will make the eye area appear brighter and help remove dark spots or circles. In order for this look to really work you have to have bright eyes, but it’s a little more difficult if your eyes are sunken. Since this is just the first layer you don’t have to use a lot of foundation.
Next you would apply the medium foundation – the one closest to your natural skin tone – and apply it to your entire face and neck using a makeup sponge. Keep the makeup sponge nearby. In the meantime use the contouring brush to draw two thin lines with the dark foundation starting at the inner end of your eyebrow extending down the side of your nose to the bottom edge. The lines need to be as fine, even and smooth as possible. Then use the makeup sponge to blend in the lines. Once finished, you should see a thinner straighter looking nose. Now apply powder to finish the look, and continue with your regular eye lip and cheek makeup. With the right tools and some skill, nose contouring will do just the trick to make the nose appear smaller.
Another very effective way of making your nose look straighter and smaller is by using a Nose Huggie. The device is not big at all and is worn right on the nose. It applies pressure to the nose cartilage with its cushiony padding in order to safely conform the nose shape. The Nose Huggie only has to be worn for 15 minutes a day. Some people are able to see results as fast as two weeks time. The Nose Huggie is very inexpensive too.
