As far as micellar waters go, I’ll be honest: I generally just pick up whatever is on offer at Boots. But before you judge me for being a bad beauty lover, know that Boots offers a great selection of micellar waters. From Garnier Micellar Water for Sensitive Skin to Simple Micellar Water, they generally suit my sensitive skin and do the job (aka clean the daily grind of London off my face and remove all traces of makeup). That being said, I thought I was set with my micellar water buying routine until this Skyn Iceland Micellar Cleansing Water With Arctic Algae landed on my desk.
Its combination of six supercharged minerals (calcium, chloride, magnesium, sodium, sulfate and silica) help to protect and nurture your skin, leaving it with a healthy, rose-infused glow. (Think the kind of glow you get right after you’ve finished a bike ride.)
Skyn Iceland’s formula is alcohol-free and not at all irritating on my sensitive skin, plus it does an incredible job of removing even the most stubborn waterproof mascara. Another bonus? It never dries out my skin. The thing with micellar waters is that they generally feel a little like a “nothing product,” and while they’re usually a staple in most people’s beauty cupboards, they don’t usually feel luxurious to use like a face mask or thick cleansing cream would. This one, however, feels like a treat to swipe across my face. I enjoy using it and feel totally revitalised after. I know, I’m gushing here. Though this may be a pricer alternative to my usual “whatever is on offer at Boots” micellar water, it’s a small luxury I’m more than willing to pay for.
